3M Safety & Security film is a microthin, multi-layered polyester laminate (typically 4 mil to 14 mil) applied to the interior of your windows with a pressure-sensitive adhesive engineered by 3M. On impact, the film holds the shattered glass together inside the frame, so the pane doesn’t fall away, intruders can’t reach through, and occupants aren’t showered with shards.
For maximum performance we recommend pairing the film with a 3M Impact Protection Attachment system, a structural sealant that bonds the filmed glass to the window frame, dramatically increasing the force required to breach the opening.
