    Overview

What blackout window film does — and why Melbourne homes and businesses choose it.

Blackout window film is the cleanest, fastest and most reversible way to turn ordinary glass into a fully light-blocking, fully private surface. Unlike curtains, blockout blinds or boarded glass, it sits flush against the pane, leaves your full window opening usable, and gives a clean architectural finish on both sides.

We install premium 3M and SOLYX blackout films across Melbourne — for home-cinema clients chasing true projector-grade darkness, shift workers who need to sleep during the day, photographers and videographers running controlled-light studios, server and comms rooms requiring environmental control, and shopfronts needing a clean black or brand-coloured canvas during fit-out or vacancy.

    How it's installed

Six steps from measure to fully cured film

    1. 1. Measure & template

Each pane is measured and the film is cut 1–2 mm undersized for a clean perimeter seal.

    2. 2. Deep-clean glass

Glass is scraped and washed with a professional solution — every speck of dust matters under blackout film.

    3. 3. Wet the glass

A slip solution lets us position the film perfectly before the adhesive grabs.

    4. 4. Apply the film

Liner is peeled and the film is laid into place and aligned to the edges of the pane.

    5. 5. Squeegee out

All slip solution and air are squeegeed out from the centre, leaving a fully bonded surface.

    6. 6. Cure

Final cure takes 7–14 days. Avoid cleaning the inside surface during this period.
